Fukhouse

Fukhouse is a legendary Toronto underground techno collective that ran parties through the late 90s and early 2000s. Spearheaded by Ian & Paul Guthrie with Jeremy P Caulfield , Lee Osborne and Eric Downer as residents, it became a central hub for the city’s electronic music scene. Known for raw energy, uncompromising bookings, and an intimate community vibe, Fukhouse introduced Toronto crowds to cutting-edge minimal and techno before it hit the mainstream.

The parties hosted both international heavyweights and local pioneers, creating a space where DJs like Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Steve Bug, Dan Bell, Tiga, Kenny Glasgow, Greg Gow, Marco Bailey, Woody McBride (DJ ESP), and many others crossed paths with Toronto’s own rising talent. The community extended far beyond the dancefloor — it was about friends, experimentation, and building a scene that valued intensity and authenticity over commercial polish.

Even years later, Fukhouse carries weight as a cultural marker. It laid the groundwork for a generation of Canadian DJs and producers, helped Toronto connect directly to Berlin and Detroit, and set a precedent for underground parties that still echoes today.

Ian Guthrie

Ian Guthrie
A true Toronto techno legend, Ian Guthrie has been a fixture in the scene since the seminal rave days of the 90s. As founder of the influential collective Fukhouse, he helped shape Toronto’s underground by bringing cutting-edge international talent together with local pioneers. As a resident, his sets became synonymous with the raw, uncompromising energy that defined the era.

Over the years Ian has played at iconic venues including Industry, NASA, System Soundbar, Element, and Stereo Bar Montreal, along with countless underground events. His style blends driving techno with tech-house grooves, always tuned to the dancefloor.

Jeremy P Caulfield
From Toronto’s underground beginnings to Berlin’s global stages, Jeremy P Caulfield has always been at the core of techno’s forward edge. As a resident of Fukhouse, Jeremy’s stripped-down and hypnotic approach defined some of the most memorable nights in the collective’s history. His precision behind the decks and uncompromising style made him a natural fit for Fukhouse’s ethos: serious music for serious dance floors.

In the early 2000s, Jeremy relocated to Berlin and founded Dumb Unit, a label that became synonymous with boundary-pushing techno and minimal, releasing artists such as Maetrik, Seph, and Visionquest. His productions and DJ sets have been supported by techno’s most influential names — from Richie Hawtin and DVS1 to Rodhad and Radio Slave — while his tours have taken him to iconic venues including Berghain, Watergate, Fabric, and Rex Club.

Now back in Toronto, Jeremy continues to evolve as both a producer and live performer. With recent releases on Kneaded Pains, RSPX, and Made of Concrete, and a newly honed live set, he remains an essential force in shaping the next chapter of the city’s underground — carrying the Fukhouse legacy forward with the same intensity and vision that defined its past. His long-standing connection to Fukhouse established him as a resident voice within one of Toronto’s most influential techno collectives, where his deep, driving selections helped shape the sound of countless nights.

Beyond Fukhouse, Lee has been a trusted presence for promoters such as Promise and Platform, while also holding ground at Toronto institutions including Footwork, Guvernment, Coda, and Comfort Zone. His reach extends into the studio as well, with releases on respected imprints like Thoughtless Music, showcasing his ability to craft music with the same authenticity and intensity that defines his DJ sets.

With roots anchored in the formative rave days and decades of contribution to Toronto’s electronic community, Lee Osborne continues to embody the spirit of a true Fukhouse resident — committed, underground, and uncompromising.
